The dictionary says:
noun … An even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady.
verb … offset or compare the value of (one thing) with another.
Personally I like the verb meaning when it comes to balance. NO BODY is going to do every thing right ALL the time, especially when it comes to food. SO don’t even try.
My philosophy that has served me well is. OFFSET to bring balance. So!!! You indulged last night, or yesterday all day. Whatever the case maybe . OKAY!
What you do today is what matters.
YOU can balance your body out by executing the tricks that I will teach you. In some instances it will be like it never happened. The problem becomes when you STOP offsetting and you go back to the behaviors you did that put you where you are in the first place. What is the meaning of INSANITY? Continuing to do the same things, but expect a different result.
Checks and balances, offsets, over compensate all of these terms will be explained and learned, when we walk your path of healing together.
